Fairline Corniche 31
Purchased in December of 2002 this is our twelth season with her and it’s all been pretty good. Lost an oil cooler in 2005 due to a leaky seawater joint and a propeller last year due to electrolosis, one of the bonding straps had broken, both replaced. Otherwise she has been a joy to own. Extended the rear canopy out in 2007 and renewed all the rear seating, some of the pics show the old canopy.

Electronics
Ok, I must confess to being a bit of an anorak when it comes to marine electronics. The boat had a single Raychart 435 on when I got it, not nearly enough fun! On the lower helm I built a console that mounts up on the ceiling (as in the pics) and installed the original Seafarer flasher unit depth sounder, the ST6000 autopilot control head and the Raymarine LR760. This unit is a colour 7” charplotter with speed and depth inputs which has the HSB2 interface. The autopilot is the SIG corepack with an hydraulic pump connected via seatalk and NMEA to the rest of the system. The lower Raymarine DSC/VHF has an NMEA connection into the system. On the fly bridge I extended the console slightly and installed the Raymarine RL70CRC colour radar with a 2KW radome linked to the lower unit via seatalk, HSB2 and NMEA. I also have the original repeater for the seafarer echo sounder and a Raymarine corded (didn’t do the wireless version when I fitted it) autopilot control unit. From either helm you have full control of the autopilot, chartplotter , sonar, radar and DSC VHF and an intercom facility to the lower helm. As I installed the “G” corepack you have radar overlay on the chartplotter. I have an ICS Navtex plus which also acts as a repeater via NMEA for any of the speed depth or position data. I’ve installed a second VHF and aerial on the fly bridge which also has an extension to the lower helm.. This is DSC and linked into NMEA from the Standard Horizon CP300 chartplotter which I installed with an AIS beacon receiver(Raymarine kit won’t accept an AIS signal)
